The Relationship between Negative Perceptions and Public Stigma of Covid-19 in Urban X

Abstract


BACKGROUND The pandemic of COVID-19 can cause negative perceptions and fear of being infected, anxiety and stigma. Stigmatization can create a negative motivator potentially that people will hide their illness and lead to COVID-19 cases increased.

OBJECTIVE The purpose of this study was to to examine Perceptions and Stigma COVID-19 in Urban Area, Tapin Utara 2021.

METHODS Descriptive method with a cross sectional is used. The population is 4,912 and sample of this study  100 respondents with purposive sampling.

RESULTS Mostly 77 people (77%) have negative perception and majority high level of stigma their have wich is 66 people (66%).

 

CONCLUSION Negative perception associated with high stigma of Covid-19 disease
