PERSPEKTIF IBU DALAM MENJALANI KEHAMILAN DI MASA PANDEMI COVID-19: STUDI KUALITATIF

Abstract


BACKGROUND COVID-19 is a world’s health problem. Cases due to COVID-19 are not only experienced by vulnerable groups but also pregnant women. Pregnant women whom infected by COVID-19 virus can cause miscarriage, premature birth, and impaired fetal development. This condition creates fear in pregnant women in undergoing pregnancy during pandemic

OBJECTIVE This study was conducted to explore the experience of mothers undergoing pregnancy during pandemic COVID-19.

METHODS This study used exploratory qualitative method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with 8 pregnant women who did prenatal check-up. The instrument used is an unstructured interview guide. Interview results will be recorded and transcribed verbatim. Data analysis was done manually to identify the main themes. The validity of the data in the research was tested by triangulation of data sources, member checking and peer debriefing.

RESULTS The results of this study revealed four themes, namely 1) feelings of excessive anxiety about being infected COVID-19, 2) the need for responsive and reliable online consultation media, 3) ambivalent feelings about the pregnancy being undertaken, and 4) supportive support from various parties

CONCLUSION The study concludes that undergoing pregnancy during a pandemic causes feelings of anxiety and happiness at the same time and need support from various parties.
