RELATIONSHIP OF AGE AND PARITY OF PREGNANT MOTHERS WITH ABORTION IN THE PANTI WALUYO PURWOREJO HOSPITAL
Abstract
Background:Â Abortion is an important problem in public health because it affects maternal morbidity and morality associated with early pregnancy which needs attention. The incidence of abortion based on maternal factors that have the most influence is age and parity.
Objective: To determine the relationship between age and parity of pregnant women with the incidence of abortion at Panti Waluyo Hospital, Purworejo.
Methods: This type of research was observational using a cross sectional design. This research was conducted on November 9, 2021 - February 10, 2022 at Panti Waluyo Hospital. The variables in this study were age and parity (Independent Variable) and the incidence of abortion (Dependent Variable). The population in this study were all pregnant women who were registered in the register of pregnant women in July 2020 - July 2021 a total of 435 people. The sampling technique was done by simple random sampling, which was as many as 100 people. Data was obtained from records in the register book from July 2020-July 2021. The data analysis used was Chi-Square.
Results:Â The highest number of pregnant women based on age was 79 people (79%), based on parity, namely children 1 and > 3, 83 people (83%), and based on the highest incidence, abortion was 78 people (78). %). The results of the analysis using the chi-square test obtained 0.001 means that there was a relationship between age and parity with the incidence of abortion.
Conclusion:Â There was a relationship between age and parity of pregnant women at Panti Waluyo Hospital, Purworejo.
